What is Sic Bo?

Sic Bo online is a three-dimensional Craps  game played in non GamStop casinos. The game is played with three dice and offers players a wide range of betting options. The goal of Sic Bo is to predict which combinations the dice will land on. Players can bet on specific numbers, combinations of numbers, and total sums, among other things.

Sic Bo is characterized by its simple rules and fast-paced gameplay, making it suitable for both beginners and experienced players. Players in this game bet on real currency (called “payouts”) instead of just tickets or chips. Therefore, understanding the bets in the game can help you make better decisions about how to bet. In this article, we’ll explain everything you need to know about Sic Bo.

The Origins of Sic Bo: How the Game Began

Before the Chinese invented paper and playing cards some 1,900 years ago, they enjoyed games using painted tiles, dice, and tiles. One such game is Sic Bo.

Although Sic Bo literally means “pair of dice”—indicating that it was once played with two dice—it originally involved rolling dice with numbered sides. Over time, this was replaced by three six-sided dice. The goal of the game has never changed: betting on combinations of numbers.

How to play Sic Bo?

Sic Bo is one of the easiest dice games to play in the online casino. There are three dice, and the goal is to predict the outcome of a roll. The game plays step by step as follows:

  • Place one or more bets on the gaming table.
  • Once the betting time is over, the croupier shakes the dice and throws them on the table, this can also be done using RNG software.
  • When the dice land on the table you see the outcome and any winnings of the round.

Bet and winnings payout

Before you start playing, it’s helpful to know your betting options. The image below shows the various options, which we’ll explain further below.

Big and small

The big and small bets are the first bets we’ll discuss. These have the same house edge , 2.8%. Both also have the same probability of winning, 48.6%.

If you place a big bet, you’re betting on a total of 11 to 17. The payout for this is 1:1. If you place a small bet, you’re betting on a combination of 4 to 10. This bet can also yield a 1:1 payout.

There are a few exceptions. You lose a big or small bet if all three dice have the same outcome. A big bet is three 4s (12) or three 5s (15). A small bet is three 2s (6) or three 3s (9).

Even and odd

An odd total of three dice wins you money with the Sic Bo odds bet. An even bet wins if the total of the dice is an even number. The statistics are the same as for a big and small bet. Both bets also have a 48.6% chance of winning and a 2.8% house edge.

Even and odd bets aren’t available in every Sic Bo game. Check the table to see if this bet is available.

Dice combinations

On the second to the last row of the playing field you can bet on a combination of two of the three dice.

You can bet on the numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6. You can bet on a total of fifteen different combinations. The house edge for all options is 2.8%. However, the odds of winning these bets are much lower, at 13.9%. This does, however, come with a higher payout. If you win a dice combination bet, you receive 6:1.

Placing multiple bets

You can place as many bets as you like, as long as you stay within the table limit. You can therefore receive multiple payouts during a single round. This makes the game very interesting and dynamic.

If you have a low playing budget, pay close attention to how many bets you place simultaneously. With too many risky bets, you can quickly lose your playing budget. In that case, it’s best to choose a €1 deposit casino with a Sic Bo variant and a low minimum bet.

Odds of winning bets

We’ve discussed the odds of winning some bets. Below, you’ll find the odds of winning all bets:

  • Big: 48.61%
  • Small: 48.61%
  • Triple: 2.8%
  • Triple: 0.46%
  • Double: 7.41%
  • Total amount: between 1.4% and 15.5%
  • Combination bets: 13.9%
  • Single bets: 34.72%
  • One die: 6.94%
  • Two dice: 0.46%

When do you win?

When the dice come to a stop, the numbers are recorded and the betting table lights up to indicate which bets are to be paid out. The live dealer or online casino pays each winning bet at the respective payout ratio. The Sic Bo game continues in the same way as it began, with players placing new bets.
